Meet Our Staff
A word about Pastor Linda Milks:
I was ordained in the NW WA Synod of the ELCA in 1995 and served a congregation in Shoreline. Then for 4 years I served as an interim pastor to many different congregations in pastoral transition. Then I was called to a congregation in Hoquiam where I served for 12 ½ years. Since then I have done various interim positions in the SW WA Synod of the ELCA.
Before the ministry I was a biomedical research scientist for 15 years in both NY and CA. I have my doctorate in Cell Biology. Then after my church in Hoquiam, I was the full time caregiver for about 2 years for my elderly mother until she moved into a nursing home and eventually died in 2018. During that time, I have done supply preaching as I am needed.
I am a Biblical teacher, an artist, a poet, a rapacious reader, a New Yorker by birth, a devout NY Yankee fan (sorry), a descendant of 1660s immigrants in Salem, MA, an American of Swedish, German & Scotts-Irish descent, a genealogy buff and most importantly a baptized, saved and loved Child of God of the Lutheran persuasion! Of the many other things I am, I leave you all to discover yourselves. But I am certainly glad God has now called me to be in ministry together with all of you during this time of transition.
